Update on US drinking water guidelines for PFAS.
It was proposed to go down to 0.004ppt for PFOA and 0.02 for PFOS/PFHxS. News from US overnight they have settled on proposing new legal limits for PFOS and PFOA at 4 ppt each. Statement on Potential Intersection between PFAS Exposure and COVID-19 based on a past US 2016 National Toxicology Program which concluded PFOA and PFOS are
“presumed to be an immune hazard to humans” suppressing
the antibody response resulting in diminished vaccine response. More research is needed to understand how PFAS exposure may affect illness from Covid-19.
This is the same 2016 report the Australian Government deliberately misquoted noted in PFAS FAQs under heading - Australia deliberately misrepresenting studies for too long.
