Updates from European Chemicals Agency on the proposed restriction of around 10 000 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs). Consultation closed on 26/9/23 with the expected lobbying from the chemical industry. Review now in place which will reveal how serious the EU is to protect the people rather than cover to pressure from the chemical industry.
However, the Guardian newspaper has revealed The EU has abandoned a promise to ban all but the most vital of toxic chemicals used in everyday consumer products, leaked documents show.

Clearly my comment below has since been shattered - the chemical industry have too much power and then the users can irresponsibility ignore storage and disposal precautions.

- 'The World Health Organization’s (WHO) draft drinking water guidelines for “forever chemicals” disregard best available science and require extensive revisions, two former federal officials argued in a new position paper.'
It follows on from a November 2022 Guardian article, 'more than 110 experts raise alarm over WHO’s ‘weak’ PFAS limits for drinking water', revealing more disturbing information which goes to the heart of industry infiltrating 'so-called' independent entities established to protect human health and the environment.
- ...raising a public alarm over what they label “weak” PFAS drinking water limits proposed by the World Health Organization, which they charge used shoddy science and “arbitrarily” dismissed hundreds of studies linking the “forever chemicals” to serious health problems.
- Some further alleged the process of developing the guidelines was corrupted by industry-aligned consultants aiming to undercut strict new PFAS limits proposed in the US, and weaken standards in the developing world. The chemicals have been called “forever chemicals” due to their longevity in the environment.
